Handling Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies can happen at any time, and knowing how to respond can save your smile. Here are some common emergencies and how to handle them.

Knocked-Out Tooth

If a tooth is knocked out, handle it by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently and try to place it back in the socket. If that's not possible, keep it in a glass of milk and seek dental care immediately.

Toothache

For a toothache, rinse your mouth with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain relief. Avoid placing aspirin directly on the tooth, as it can cause burns.

Broken Tooth

If you break a tooth, save any pieces and rinse your mouth with warm water. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and contact your dentist as soon as possible.

Being prepared can make all the difference in a dental emergency!
